"O" Cirque du soleil overhyped!

Main Post:

This sub recommends O as the best cirque show. I found it horribly boring. The two clowns took up 1/3 of the show doing nothing really. The music was annoying and sounded the same for all parts. I was waiting for the "WOW" and it never came. Diving into the water became boring fast. I would recommend One and Mad apple before O. One is familiar with the michael jackson music and themes along with great dancing/acrobats. Mad apple was hilarious while also unique in its new york style "stunts".

Top Comment: I was with you for the first part. "O" is boring as f for many. It is a 25 year old show that hasn't changed anything since Bill Clinton was President. Many people enjoy the spectacle - it's a water acrobatic ballet. That's not for everyone. I got bored also. Older people with long attention spans seem to love it the most. MAD APPLE is an embarrassment to the Cirque brand. It's a cruise ship show with some acrobats. Mostly singing. VERY low budget for a Cirque show. It's the newest. There is ZERO reason to suggest MJ One over BEATLES LOVE, unless the person is an MJ superfan. They are from the same period of Cirque development but Beatles Love is a theater in the round with a ceiling several stories high and they use that 360 degree space like crazy. And then they updated LOVE in 2018 with new screens, projectors, and visuals. MJ is a 13 year old show by now and they haven't touched it since. KA is like an action movie with the suggestion of a plot. It worked for me. Some of it is astonishing. And Mystere is the granddaddy. Show is 30 years old and feels like it. It's a prototype beta version for the other Cirque shows. Literally the last one to see if you've seen the others.

O Show. I've missed out on getting any good seats for the one night we have available to go. Do they offer cheaper tickets if I were to purchase a couple hours before the show either on line or in person? : vegas

Comparing The O.C to other shows…

Main Post:

Only recently binged The OC (I was a bit young for it back in the 00s), but I’ve read that the show was such a hit because it was unlike anything on at the time.

So I’m curious: What were the other shows on at the time? The OC was fresh & new in comparison to....?*

This isn’t me putting down The OC btw! Genuine fan just want some context of TV culture at the time.

Top Comment:

One Tree Hill is the obvious one especially since Chad Michael Murray turned down the role of Ryan to do One Tree Hill.

Degrassi next generation is another show as well, though it was obviously Canadian. But a huge teen show.

O - Cirque du Soleil, worth it?

Main Post:

hello everyone! planning a trip in april and debating whether or not to attend a show, and a family member recommended O at Bellagio, however I don’t really know if I trust their recommendations or not and wanted to hear from others of their experience. I have seen Absinthe twice and loved it, but generally am not a show goer. I will be consuming gummies, if that helps provide some insight 😅

I am also curious to hear if anyone has done the VIP experience and if they found that was worth the money compared to just regular seats.

any other show recommendations are also welcome, on or off the strip, we will be hiring a car so can travel!

big thank you in advance for your assistance!

Top Comment: Yes, it's quite the experience - perhaps teh best cirque show on the strip.

Is “O” Cirque Du Soleil worth it?

Main Post:

Hey guys, my girl and I are trying to decide if “O” is worth the hype and ticket price. Thoughts from you guys? We’re going this weekend and we’re thinking of going to the 9:30 showing on Sunday. Thanks!

Top Comment: Have you seen the Olympics in Paris? Well, O has taken past Olympic athletes from swimming and gymnastic competitions and put them in an artistic show.

Is O worth twice the price of KA?

Main Post:

Hi all! Visiting Vegas end of May and looking to see a Cirque show. Only one we’ve seen so far from Vegas is Love and looking for suggestions

O right now is hovering about 800 for 3 of us vs the 400ish for KA. Money isn’t a massive factor but don’t want to go nuts if it’s not that worth it

Haven’t seen the Michael Jackson one or Mad Apple either but don’t hear those brought up nearly as much

Thanks!

*I also noticed the seats closest to the stage for KA were a bit cheaper than a little farther back. Is it just a poor viewing angle or something else

Top Comment: O is incredible. I’ve seen it three times!

First time traveling to Las Vegas for "O" Cirque du Soleil

Main Post:

When traveling, we are always out all day, so we bring a backpacks with water bottles for our family, PowerBank, jackets, etc. I read that they only allow a very tiny purse that won't even fit a water bottle. Do they strictly implement the tiny purse rule? Can I bring a crossbody bag? Are we not allowed to bring water? It's a 90-minute show, so we would be there for almost 2 hours without water. Is bringing PowerBank allowed? My phone only lasts less than 4 hours especially with using Google Maps, etc. all day.

We will also watch the David Copperfield show. Are we allowed to bring water?

Thank you!

Top Comment: They expect you to buy your snack and beverage at the theater. They will not let you in with a backpack because there's no place to put it. There's no way to have a large bag at a live show without annoying the people around you. Trust me, don't bring anything but necessities and just bite the bullet and buy an expensive cocktail and a bag of popcorn and you'll have an amazing experience.
